Small Town Girl

I loved Casey's comment on my excitedness of getting a Super Target. It honestly cracked me up, because sometimes I forget there are people out there who have never experienced the small town life. I have experienced it since I was just past a year old. Don't get me wrong. I 'm not one of those hickville girls with teeth missing and a pig for a pet. I am a world traveler and a fairly "city" girl (although I do have a deep love for the country and horses).

So, I thought I would tell Casey and other's about my lil town. Why? I guess to say that it's not that small.
  • We have not one, but TWO Super Wal-Marts (because isn't that always the deciding factor on if your town is small or not?)
  • There are 3 Universities, 1 junior college, and a pharmaceutical school here
  • I have no idea what our population is, but it's at least in the 6 digits (I think)!
  • We have about 519841684168416874634138577 Churches...I kid you not there is one on ever corner nearly
  • There are several proffessional athletes that hail from A-Town
  • We have an airport.
  • Ok, so you can only fly to Dallas and Houston from our airport's two terminals, but it's an airport
  • We have 3 lane highways...Though they are almost completely useless because whoever designed it was RE-TAR-TED! (yes, I know it's retarded and it's not a nice word, but it fits)
  • We have LOTS and LOTS of (new & used) Car dealerships. No, we don't have a Lexus, BMW, Mini Cooper, Mercedes, or Jaguar dealership. That's what we go to Dallas for.
  • We have a mall and a Shops
  • We have a Lowe's and a Home Depot
  • We are about to have a second Lowe's, several new restraunts, and a KHOL'S!
  • Did I mention we're getting a Super Target??

I have a Crate & Barrel, Cheesecake Factory, H&M and 12 Super Targets, again, I apologize for where you're stuck. (But it's better than most!)

We used to drive to Abilene to go to your mall. Ah small town life.

If it makes you feel better, Abilene was the closest "big city" we used to go to when I was growing up.
