ok, i'm really not an alcoholic. but i do appreciate a good drink now and then. a few days before i died, i left pumpkin a comment on her birthday party post about making her a punkin pie martini. she in turn asked for the recipe. well, dear, ask & you shall receive! i have a couple of recipes actually, so make them all and see which one you like best!
- 2 parts Absolut Vanila vodka
- 1 part pumpkin schnapps
- Splash of cream
- Shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. And strain into a martini glass. Sprinkle with nutmeg and garnish with a cherry
or
1.25 oz. Vanilla Vodka
1.25 oz. Pumpkin Smash (if you can find it)
.5 oz. Milk
1 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
Mix in vanilla vodka, pumpkin smash, milk and ice in a martini shaker
2.) Shake well
3.) Mix sugar and cinnamon together and add to rim of martini glass
4.) Strain into the martini glass rimmed with the cinnamon and sugar mixture
or (my personal fave)
1 cup Libby's Easy Pumpkin Pie Mix
1 cup half-and-half (or if you're really a drunken fool fun like me, use 3/4 cup half & half and 1/4 cup Bailey's Irish Cream
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon molasses
2 ounces spiced rum, plus a little extra
A pinch of nutmeg
In a blender, puree the pumpkin pie mix together with half-and-half. One cocktail uses 2 ounces of the pumpkin mixture; the rest can be reserved in the refrigerator. Spread the brown sugar out on a saucer. Dampen the rim of a martini glass with a little rum and then coat the rim in brown sugar. Drizzle molasses in glass. Set aside. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces pumpkin pie base, 2 ounces spiced rum and ice. Shake until well-chilled and then strain into the prepared martini glass. Sprinkle with a little nutmeg and serve. *i've also been known to bake up sweetened (sometimes just sugar, sometimes cinnamon and sugar) strips of pie crust to serve alongside this*
not a pumpkin pie martini, but still very yummy:
Toasted Coconut Martini
2 ounces coconut rum
1 1/2 ounce Frangelico
2 ounces pineapple juice
Toasted coconut flakes, for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, combine coconut rum, Frangelico and pineapple juice with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a martini glass. Garnish with toasted coconut flakes.
now, if you all will excuse me, i'm going to take my pain killers, muscle relaxers, phenegran, anti-depressants, birth control, and asthma meds and go to bed and attempt to sleep (not gonna happen...back hurts too bad)

Wow, looks like I missed a lot while I was moving. I hope you are feeling better, glad you can still blog. I'm sure it helps the time pass. And the drinks look so good! I'm intrigued. I don't make mixed drinks so I'll have to share the recipe with someone who does.

The walls are spinning, can you call me a cab... woo hoo that description conked me out!
