Dear Jake, Part Two

As I write this, you are almost finished with your 2nd day of Kindergarten. I hear you were quite the character yesterday. When your teacher announced it was time to play Shape Bingo, you told her you didn't want to play. She told you if you didn't follow directions, you'd have to go to time out. Your response? "I believe I'll just go to time out, please." Yes, I am laughing my ass off. I guess we're going to have to work on that whole following directions instead of time out thing. I'm not worried about it. You're a smart kid, you'll get the hang of it. I know it's a big transition from daycare to school. The rules are different, but you'll learn them, just like you did at daycare.

Today, your music teacher (my old roommate) told me you called her "Rachel" in class instead of "Ms. Martin." I know you've literally known her your whole life as Rachel, but at school it's gonna have to be Ms. Martin. Sorry kid, not our rules. I asked her how you were doing today and she responded "well, he was flirting with a little girl at lunch, so i guess he's doing pretty dang good!" hehe you little pimp. You also asked Rachel Ms. Martin if the little girl could sit by you in music. Less than 2 days and you've already found a girlfriend. That's my boy!

You continue to amaze me. I am so incredibly proud of you and I'm anxious to see what else you will pull out of your bag of tricks.

Keep up the good work, and please try to stay away from time-out.
