I'm sorry I wasn't part of your entourage at Meet The Teacher. PawPaw calls you Little P-Diddy. I think it fits. I hear you were so incredibly excited and didn't even want to leave. That makes me so happy, and gives me great relief. I've worried about you changing schools for quite some time now. I should know better than to worry...you are just the most resilient kid i've ever known.
it really does seem like we just brought you home from the hospital.
and in a blink of an eye, you've grown up into a boy. an animal loving, conversation having, joke-telling, potty trained, sports loving, hilarious, loving, kind, creative, independent, silly, brilliant BOY.
i know you are going to grow up into an awesome man, and you'll do great things with your life. before i know it, you'll be graduating college. how can this be?
monday morning, you will have your full entourage accompanying you as you slide on your backpack and march into your new classroom at your new school. your daddy is coming in from dallas for this. mommy, mimi, mawghi, pawpaw, and biddy will all go in to work late so we can all see you off and snap a million pictures, while fighting back the tears. the only one that will be missing from your First Haircut Entourage will be Grammy, and that's because Morgan will also be starting her first day of kindergarten.
go forth and conquer this world, little one. and please, just accept the fact that no matter how old you are, i will forever and always call you Baby. because i'm your Biddy and I can.

That is so sweet! (My eyes started welling up.) Jake is a lucky boy to have you in his life.
Here's to the big days! And the first day of kindergarten is such a big day!
(bring a hankie)
I am so happy for you that you have Jake to smooch on! It's such a gift, isn't it?
And I call The Boy "Baby" too! He'll probably have to endure it all his life. ha!
