OK, so as most of you know, I'm attempting to lose weight, AGAIN. And yes, I've been slacking off the past couple of weeks. Seriously though - last week I had like 2465163 birthday celebrations (who was I to say no to the free, delicious, and most importanly, free meals?) and Now the fair is in town! I love love love me some fair food! I'm sorta watching how much I eat, but not really paying attention to what I eat. Well, I'm paying attention to it, just not caring about the content haha.
Anyway, this morning I was thinking I should probably attempt to get a little bit back on track. You know, at least eat a healthy breakfast and take a Smart Ones for lunch because I'll more than likely eat something terrible for supper on my way to class (ugh, night classes are hell on your waistline!). Well, I ate my bowl of Fiber One with Yogurt (delicious by the way) with a banana for breakfast - yay me! But, stupid me forgot to grab a Smart Ones (also delicious by the way) out of the freezer. Crap! I don't take a lunch break on MWF because I need the hours at work, so if I don't bring my lunch, my mom will usually bring me something from wherever she and my dad go. Usually this is some place that has no clue what "healthy" is, but I do the best I can in ordering (and try to only eat half unless it's a kids meal). Well, today she decided to order a sandwhich from the Health Food Store and wanted to know if I wanted one...
Ok, I didn't even know we have a health food store, nevermind what kind of food they have! So, I told her of my ignorance and she said she always gets a sandwhich called the "chicken little." I love me some chicken, so I told her to just get me one of those - how bad could it be right? Well, she pulls up with this sandwhich and at first glance I wanted to puke - seriously. But I figured it was probably not cheap, and well, something is better than nothing cause I'm a real biotch without food. This "Chicken Little" consists of toasted wheat bread, rather flavorless grilled (or maybe boiled) chicken breast, grilled asparagus, a hint of some sort of mayo or something to offset the dryness, and about 216565 pounds of sprouts. The sprouts are what made me want to puke because certain textures (whether i'm looking at them, tasting them, or feeling them) gross me out. I tried it anyway, and it's actually pretty good! I think I would like it a whole lot better if there weren't any sprouts on it. They taste (and look) a bit like grass. But all in all it's actually pretty good...i might consider ordering it again! Of course, the black chips and fat free ranch dressing that came with it are definitely a hit with me...
still though, I can't quite believe I just ate that whole sandwhich! I like some healthy foods (most veggies, chicken, fruit, etc) but I have firmly protested anything that comes from a "health food store" I don't do Tofu, Sprouts, Pine Nuts, or anything else that looks like a cow, bear or gopher should be eating. I mean, seriously, if my dog (who eats pretty much everything, including poo (gross)) turns her nose up at it, there's no way I'm touching it! However, I guess my eyes have been opened a bit and I'll go to this place and see what all they have to offer...I mean, if I'm going to be eating out, I might as well spend my money on something healthy! right?
Anyway, I'm sure you all wanted to know about my Sprouting experience, but hey, this is a big step for me. Ok, so I should have probably posted this on the other blog, but oh well...I keep forgetting I have that one actually lol
peace
