ugh, it's monday again

these people have got to stop following me and writing about my life! I'm cracking up at the second article particularly because I've (and so has pretty much everyone else) always said my middle sister and i are polar opposites. the article says "Up to 15 percent of us are born into the temperamental category called 'inhibited,'" and "These are the people who are often labeled 'hypersensitive.' An equal number are born 'uninhibited,' and they demonstrate sociability and curiosity about the unfamiliar. The majority fall somewhere in between." I would for sure be in the "inhibited, hypersensitive" category (believe it or not). my middle sis? for sure the uninhibted! My oldest sister would fall "somewhere in between."

yeah, i definitely knew this guy. He is my age, went to church with Stormy when we were in high school. He had a very troubled life. he really was an awesome guy, but ended up in jail at the age of 17. just got out 3 or 4 weeks ago. finally decided to go back to church sunday morning. drowned sunday night. that sucks royally. i know it's terrible, but it's things like this that make me really question my faith and God. why does God let things like this happen? I'm still trying to figure out why He insisted on taking my Papa when he did...and that will be 3 years ago in september.

i remember now why i usually don't particularly care about my birthday - some shit usually happens on or around it to make it just another insignificant day....of course, the celebration always falls on labor day weekend so my family has a labor day and oh yeah it's brandy and joe's birthday too party. my 7th birthday, i got in trouble for something my sister did (and so sweetly blamed on me) and was sent to my room while all my friends got to enjoy my party. princess diana? yep, she died on my 13th birthday and that was all anyone could talk about, oh wait, it still is every aug 31. my 20th birthday? went to a funeral for an old family friend where my grandad (semi-jokingly) said "well sugar, all our buddies are dieing. hmm guess i'm next" and i got mad at him for saying that. but he was - 21 days later, he died. my 21st birthday? aside from not being able to get shit-faced with Papa, not one friend other than Nornan showed up (which i still appreciate greatly) to my party - after they said they would. i had a huge table reserved at a local club. i had a list of people that were to get in for free at the door. My mother and Nornan were the only other people at the table (my dad was busy singing on the stage with his band). but don't go throwing things at Friend, he had a real reason for not being able to come. and now this shit with Channing.

can i change my birthday? cause that would be great.

so, now that i've been a downer, go watch this. it's pretty funny

Ahh honey that was pitiful. Have half birthday parties instead...my sister and I were both in December. It's hard to round up friends for a party with all the holiday craziness...so Mama would let us have parties in June when people could relax and enjoy it. Our friends were jealous that we "got" to have half birthday parties. Heck wouldn't that be February...that's a dull month, people would certainly appreciate a good party in February.

That sucks about your 21st..asswholes.

That is also horrible about that boy drowning..unreal how powerful water can be. I still love it though.

If you want to change your birthday you just go ahead. I have a friend who's bday is in January. She celebrates it every summer since that way she can have an outdoor party. :-)

grrrr.... hate bad birthdays. Celebrate birthday week... try to convince yourself that it is your birthday all week, so then whenever something good happens-- it happened cause of your birthday.

If nothing else, go rock out to that fresh prince cd... awwww yeah!

Bummer. That really sucks about your 21st. My 21st went pretty much unnoticed. My sister graduated from high school the same day. The only people that made a 'to-do' about it were my co-workers. Sweet of them! I hope you enjoy your birthday this weekend.

Definitely change it! I suggest mid-June. Half way to Christmas!

Also, I will second the idea of celebrating birthday week. I often try to milk it for the whole month, but have yet to succeed.

You were 13 when Princess Diana died? Wow! What a bummer for you, AND you are sooo young!! I was (ahem) a little older than that when she passed. Just a little.

You know me...........I don't do birthdays. I say change it BUT NOT to mine!!!! And definately don't change it to October. That month is NASTY! You know that.
As for you questioning "Why God let....happen" well, that is the way life is. We have to know that those who get there first are swinging from the gates!
