so, since everyone and their dog is having a baby soon around here, i thought it would be a good idea to start making Simple Swaddles. They are a fantastic creation if you've never seen one. The only problem is, they are no longer being made. So, you have to resort to ebay and hope that someone has put one on there. Well, I found one on ebay a couple of days ago. It was blue & white toile and used, but still in great condition. So, I bid on it, and put my highest bid quite a bit higher just in case. I figured I had it. I was going to use it for the pattern, then send it on to a friend's sister that just had a baby (she's had to resort to a "girly green" one for her baby boy due to the shortage and his nursery is navy and white...perfect!). Well, I checked on it about an hour before it was over, and i was still the high bidder and still significantly away from my highest bid. so, i watched a movie...
checked ebay this morning. i was outbid by like 75 cents. damnitt! i was all pissed and searched high and low for another one, but there just aren't any to be found. for some reason, i clicked again on the one i had lost, and saw that the person who won it was someone in dallas. well, the person i was going to send it to lives in dallas. so i left her a note on her blog, asking if she had bought it. then (thanks to google) i remembered that one of her friends (also in dallas) uses them. so, i shot her an email to see if she had one i could borrow for a couple of days. i told her my sad story of being outbid. turns out, she was the one that outbid me! can we say small world!? and, anne was sweet enough to offer to send it to me to get the pattern as long as i signed an oath in blood that i would return it. ok, there was no blood, but she may have promised to resort to bodily harm if i don't, but that won't be necessary! i just need to take a couple of pictures and trace it, then it's back to dallas!
i like it when things work out like that....
in other exciting news, i'm a moron. oh wait, that's nothing new. you know how i posted about my surprise picture on my camera? well, after reading casey's comment, i kind of got the idea that she left it on there on purpose. duh, biddy! too bad it only took me over a month to find! kind of like papa used to say "i hid goldie's (my grandmother) christmas present in the oven. she didn't find it till june!"
i really should learn to be a bit, ok, a lot, more observant...sheesh

Ok. As soon as I get a new sewing machine, I'm all over this. Swaddling the twinadoes was my only hope a survival (right now I am considering enlarging the pattern to fit 5 year olds). Swaddling. Straitjackets. It's just semantics.
Can't you just wrap a blanket tight around them?
What do I know...
Both of my boys hated swaddling. I wonder why they walk around in boxers all the time?
