Stocks? What?

so, this morning, Mommy Dearest sent my sisters and me an email saying "we've decided to start buying you and the grandkids stocks for christmas & birthdays...let me know what companies you're interested in. let me know today"

erm...ok? first off, i have NEVER delved into the whole stock market thing. i mean, c'mon, i can barely feed myself, let alone invest in the stock market! i'm fairly certain neither of my sisters know much (if anything) about stocks.

so, with an hour to go before she got off work, I googled some companies i could pull off the top of my head, to see if they even offer stock purchase. Here's the email I sent Mommy Dearest after 15 minutes of becoming a stock expert (ha!):

Wal-Mart (WMT)
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO:NYSE)
Target (of course) (TGT)
Playboy (PLA) (seriously! i hear it's pretty cheap right now)
something to do with Wind Energy
or maybe even GM (surely it will bounce back sometime)

i'm sure walmart is probably a pretty good choice, the rest, who the hell knows?!

and yes, i am dead serious about playboy. please don't ask me why, because i'm not quite sure. i guess i'm basing my financial future on the fact that men will ALWAYS love playboy.
