i voted last week? week before last? i'm not sure. all i know is i'm so glad you can vote early in texas and that i got it out of the way! i know, i'm not very patriotic. hell, i wrote 3 times more about a ring than our country's political issues. whatever. sorry, i'm not a patriotic person, and while i'm glad that i am an american, i'm not sporting the colors red white or blue tomorrow. i'm not watching the election coverage if i can help it (i've only got 4 channels, so i'll inevitably see something) Is it bad that i just don't care anymore?
anyway...tonight i stopped by the liquor store to buy a nip of jack daniels so i can make p-dub's pumpkin cake with whiskey cream. i have been seriously craving it ever since she posted the recipe, but i only had one airline nip of jack daniels left. I went to one likker store (because hi! walmart doesn't carry jack daniels...duh biddy) and they didn't have any nips. i really didn't want to buy a big bottle of Jack because i rarely drink the stuff (mainly because i can't afford it) (ok and i'm afraid the cake is going to be so good i'll keep making it until i'm out of Jack).
so, i held off. i thought the craving would go away, but it has only gotten worse. i need that damn cake in my bloodstream ASAP. tonight i went to the other likker store to see if they had any. i asked the guy working there if they had any nips of jack and he said no as he pointed to the case by the cash register that contained mini bottles of every hard liquor imaginable except whiskey. fuck. so, i asked how much the smallest bottle was, and it was definitely cheaper than the other store. i was hesitant to buy it, but the guy made the awesome point of "it never goes bad" and "hot totties" and i was sold. also? he kind of hit on me and that was nice, except that i'm almost certain i saw a ring on his finger (ha! story of my life!). btw, does anyone else know the mini bottles of teh al-kee-hall as nips? he said he'd never heard them called that and thought it was "cool." erm, ok?
anyway, i will be making pumpkin cake with whiskey cream tomorrow (and probably having a jack & coke...or two...or twelve). i will report the findings on Love & A Pink Mixer. I'm sure it won't disappoint. at. all.
by the way, no one has submitted a single recipe for my new blog! you're hurting my feelers people!

Ooooh, anything with likker in it sounds good. If I was nearby I'd bring some over and steal a piece of cake :) It sounds GOOD.
I've been working on the campaign and although it's been exciting, I'm BURNT OUT on all this shit.
I'll try to get over to your new blog and post a recipe. I don't really cook that much anymore (army guy does that) but I'll put up my yummy best in the world lasagne recipe.
